We're so excited to have launched our new venture today; the task we have ahead of us is great, but we're determined to make a real and sustained difference for members of the LGBTQ+ community, one business at a time.

Our mission statement is simple: to create a network of businesses which are truly LGBTQ+ friendly, making safe spaces a reality rather than just lip service. We're tired of seeing rainbow flag emojis on company Twitter pages, professing inclusivity without real merit. Certified Proud seeks consistent, measurable change, steeped in authenticity and commitment.

We want to ensure that employers are inclusive to the core, fostering environments that mean staff can work safely and freely. This then extends to consumers where applicable; Certified Proud will become a zeitgeist that chronicles the businesses who are adhering to the principles we set out. And we hold them to this; part of the membership process is a yearly audit to make sure our network continues to uphold best practices.

Our aim is to lobby for betterment. And with this in mind, we have established The Certified Proud Fund, a charitable foundation which donates 40% of membership fees to other worthy LGBTQ+ endeavours who share our passion for improvement and fairness.

From news about the company to insightful articles and thinkpieces that deal with issues concerning the LGBTQ+ community, the blog will be a cornucopia of information! We know how powerful words can be and we want to make sure we have a voice. This blog is our voice!

We see this as a whole new chapter and we're so grateful to have you along for the journey with us! Audre Lorde says that "we are powerful because we have survived." The time is so ripe for change and we at Certified Proud want to keep this momentum going.
